The Short Answer

Stay near the Albert Cuyp Market and Sarphatipark, in the middle of De Pijp's food streets. Our pick is the Sir Albert Hotel, at the top of the Albert Cuypstraat, a few minutes from the market and the metro.

For a splurge, Hotel Okura at the southern end has a full-size pool and the top-floor restaurant Ciel Bleu, while the Pestana Amsterdam Riverside on the Amstel suits families, with an indoor pool and studios for four. The InterContinental Amstel is just across the river. On a budget, the Bicycle Hotel is on a residential street in the middle of the neighborhood.
